A Sample Expository Paragraph Written by a
Student: The Theme is Friendship
“Do You Have What It Takes to be a Good Friend?”
What does it mean to
be a good friend? To be a good friend means to be trustworthy. You must keep secrets and not make fun of your
friend. A good friend is also loyal. For
instance if you are in a position to choose between your close friend’s
birthday party and a trip to the movie with some other kids, choose your
friend’s birthday party. You should also
watch out for your friends. If you
overhear someone talking about or threatening your friend, you should step in
to help your friend. Most importantly,
you should always care for your friend.
This means when your friend is down, you need to support her and try to
cheer her up. Although you might get mad
at your friend, there is always room to forgive. Do you have what it takes be a good
friend?
